About Home Pictures
Home Pictures was originally founded by Andrew Mitchell in 2001. Andrew chose the name because nearly all of his early films were shot in his home with his family's 8mm camcorder and of course were homemade. Since then Home Pictures has made 10 original short films and continues to put its best effort forward in producing quality entertainment.
About Andrew
Andrew Mitchell grew up with a love for movies and explored his passion by making short films with his family’s home video camera. Andrew stuck with his passion and over the past six years he has directed several short films ranging from comedies to thrillers and has a couple he’s working on currently.
In 2005 Andrew took a video production class at Tri-Tech Skills Center during his senior year of high school. He was very popular among his peers and the instructor. He won many awards over the course of the class including the acclaimed “Most Employable Student Award” awarded at the end of the semester.
On June 16, 2007, Andrew’s passion shone through again in his short film, “The Wardrobe Malfunction” which was one of the top three winners at the Columbia Basin Video Festival.
In 2008 he worked as a freelance videographer for the Kennewick School District recording class lectures, to which Andrew was commended for his work and popular amongst the faculty who hired him.
Meanwhile in 2008, Andrew also produced, directed, and cast local talent for his thriller "Deception.” After the film was finished, an experienced publicist heard of the film and generously offered to help cast a press release and premiere the film free of charge. Deception opened at a local venue and was so successful that only two programs were left to hand out. Later on, Deception was granted a page on the Internet Movie Database IMDb.com.
Presently, Andrew Mitchell is completing his Bachelors of Arts in Motion Pictures and Television at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
